Manolo Blahnik
Will Open Second Boutique In
Burlington Arcade

Manolo Blahnik’s shoe designs are some of the most iconic in the world (remember those bejewelled blue satin heels famously worn by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City). Late Spring 2018, the Spanish designer will be creating a new concept store.

The new boutique will adjoin his flagship women’s and menswear store which opened to international acclaim in 2016. With an offering ranging from the classics through to limited edition creations and his recently launched bags, the joint offering will be the go-to destination for anyone truly in the know.

The Beauty
of Ceremony

The oldest (and smallest) private police force in the world has been led by Head Beadle, Mark Lord since 2002. Instantly recognisable in their striking Savile Row-designed frock coats and hats, the Beadles, who are all ex-British military servicemen,
have been serving the arcade since 1819. Each morning they ring a bell three times at 9am to let visitors know the Burlington Arcade gates are open.

“People love to see the Beadles, we have a very romantic image. It represents quality, service, history and London. Here you’re a concierge, a tour guide, a security guard, and a point of knowledge about the local area.”

BY ORDER OF THE BEADLES

Burlington Arcade embraces its historic etiquette and rules founded nearly two hundred years ago and ensures that they still survive to this day, including no whistling (unless you’re Paul McCartney) no humming, hurrying, riding bicycles, or “behaving boisterously”.
